Africa Barista League (ABL) was birthed in 2020 during the first COVID-19 lockdown in Uganda which ran from March to June 2020. At VQS Coffees and Barista Academy we are producing international quality professional baristas who we in turn help to get employment both nationally and internationally (mainly Middle East currently). ABL seeks to create a family of these baristas while at the same time encouraging excellence through Barista competitions.

This league kicked off as an online competion in 2020 and we will keep it that way until the COVID-19 embers die out.

We hope that these competitions will be held annually and will be open to all Ugandan baristas working both nationally and beyond the borders.
